Imagination Technologies Introduces Comprehensive GNSS IP Core

Imagination Technologies today announced the offering of the Ensigma Location GNSS IP core that supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou as well as several Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) including WAAS and EGNOS. Designed for ultra-low power consumption, the IP is designed to optimize battery powered remote IoT sensors and edge devices, wearables, health monitors, consumer mobile products, automotive after-sales products such as insurance boxes and road tolling equipment, and asset tracking devices.

Fleet Space Technologies Joins Rocket Lab Manifest for “It’s Business Time” Mission

Fleet’s two “Proxima” satellites are the first scheduled launch of commercial CubeSats from an Australian company

U.S. orbital launch provider Rocket Lab has signed a contract with fast-growing Internet of Things (IoT) start-up Fleet Space Technologies to launch two satellites that will form the foundation of a global IoT communications constellation. The two Proxima satellites are the first of a fleet of small, low-cost satellites that will provide internet connectivity for millions of sensor devices based in remote locations on Earth.

CORE Corp. Expands Line of GNSS Receivers

Tokyo, Japan-based CORE Corporation recently exhibited a line of customizable multi-GNSS receivers and Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) centimeter-level receivers at ION GNSS+. Customizable multi-GNSS receiver means users build up with CORE’s circuit design, FGPA and software program, not using any commercial or completed GNSS chips.

The company’s Cohac infinite repetition L6 decoder is designed to deliver positioning centimeter accuracy, and case studies indicate successful results in agricultural machinery, autos, railroad and aviation.

Looking ahead to QZSS service startup in November,CORE has released the new QZSS centimeter-level receiver supporting both CLAS and MADOCA. In addition to GNSS receivers, the company develops total GNSS solutions by fusing with Internet of Things (IoT), the cloud and applications to enable various possibilities for location, automotive, agriculture and train customers.

Selective Availability, IoT, Suez Canal Visit, Featured at Arab Institute of Navigation Conference

The recently concluded Arab Institute of Navigation biennial conference in Cairo, “GNSS, the Key to Innovation,” featured a wide variety of presentations of interest to navigators and technologists alike.

Presenters ranged from representatives of the European Space Agency (ESA) and NASA, to those from a transportation company that uses GNSS-enabled tracking while transporting priceless ancient artifacts to the under-construction Grand Egyptian Museum.

Quectel Releases GSM/GPRS/GNSS/Wi-Fi Module

Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global supplier of Internet of Things (IoT) modules, announced on Monday the release of MC90, a quad-band GSM/GPRS/GNSS/Wi-Fi module.
