Pacific Crest Launches New ADL Data Modem

Pacific Crest, a Trimble company, has introduced the new ADL Sentry, a UHF radio for remote communications.

An high-speed, data radio modem designed for the demanding environments of remote sensing and environmental monitoring, the ADL Sentry joins the Advanced Data Link (ADL) product line that includes the ADL Foundation, a transceiver OEM modem board; the ADL RXO, a receive-only OEM board; and the ADL Vantage, a 4-Watt programmable UHF radio for survey applications.

Trimble Introduces New GPS Condor Receivers and Antenna Modules

Trimble has introduced its new Condor family of GPS modules, featuring advancements in signal tracking for applications in poor signal environments, as well as two antenna companion modules.

Compatible with active or passive antennas, the Condor L1 C/A-code GPS receivers can be used in portable handheld, battery-powered applications such as sport accessories, PDAs, cameras, computers, and communication peripherals as well as vehicle tracking, navigation, and security products.

Rx Networks Introduces Real-Time, Multi-Mode Engine for A-GPS

Rx Networks, Inc., has announced its new XYBRID RT multi-mode positioning engine, which combines cell-ID, WiFi signals with assisted-GPS ephemeris and coarse position aiding to yield fast, ubiquitous positioning for mobile devices.

The XYBRID RT — scheduled to be available for commercial use in December 2009 — can be licensed on a usage or a lifetime subscription basis. Rx Networks provides a XYBRID RT mobile client compatible with most mobile operating systems and most GPS chipsets.

CSR plc. introduced the SiRFstarIV GSD4e GPS location processor, the newest member of the recently launched SiRFstarIV architecture, at the company’s Location 2.0 Summit in San Diego, California, earlier this month.

Navman Wireless OEM Launches Jupiter3 GPS Module

Navman Wireless OEM Solutions, based in Foothill Ranch, California, has announced the availability of its new Jupiter3 Ultra-Small GPS Receiver Module, the company’s smallest GPS module (11 x 11 x 2.2 millimeters) and the basis of its next generation of GPS receiver solutions.

Based on SiRF’s GSC3f/LPx chipset, the Jupiter3, is expected to eventually provide the core for all future Navman wireless GPS modules, offering low power consumption (11.5mA ATP), high sensitivity (-159dBm) and modest pricing.

Rakon Offers New Manta TCXO for GNSS Applications and High-sensitivity Communications

Rakon, the New Zealand-based manufacturer of frequency timing solutions, has launched a new TCXO in its Manta Series.

The HT7500/HVT7500 temperature-controlled oscillator combines discrete design and ASIC compensation in a compact standard 7m x 5m x 1.9m SMD package. It offers high-quality stability and phase noise.

Advanced IC technology, using unique fifth-order compensation over wide temperature ranges (-40°C to 85°C), makes this TCXO suitable for GNSS applications and for use in precision GPS where low phase noise is required.
