Trimble AP20-C GNSS/inertial OEM board with MEMS sensors

Trimble introduced its AP20-C, the latest addition to its AP Series of embedded GNSS-inertial OEM boards, at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2012 Conference and Exhibition today (August 7, 2012).

Incorporating a compact, custom-built inertial measurement unit (IMU) based on commercial micro-electromechanical mechnical system (MEMS) sensors, the AP20-C enables system integrators to achieve high-rate position and orientation measurements with exceptional accuracy, according to the company.

Thales Plans Next Steps in GNSS Technology Evolution

French manufacturer Thales, the only non-U.S. company to offer GPS SAASM (Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module) receivers, is working on next-generation receivers for commercial aviation and military markets that will incorporate new signals and multiple GNSS systems.

Since the late 1990s, the company has delivered between 8,000 and 10,000 avionics installations in military and civil domains, according to Pierre Bouniol, GNSS Products Department manager, including multi-mode GPS receivers in stand-alone and enclosure configurations.

NovAtel, Interstate Electronics Team on SAASM RTK Receiver Board

NovAtel Inc. today (May 30, 2012) announced the development of their OEM625S Selective Availability/Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) GNSS receiver, the first product emerging from a collaborative effort with L-3 Interstate Electronics Corporation (IEC).

The OEM625S, which becomes available for purchase in the third quarter of this year, will combine a commercial dual-frequency NovAtel GNSS receiver with an L-3 IEC XFACTOR SAASM in a single card solution, reducing overall size and power requirements for end customer applications.

IFEN Adds BeiDou-Compass Capability to Its Multi-GNSS Simulator

IFEN GmbH has announced that the company has enhanced its NavX-NCS multi-GNSS RF constellation simulator product line to support China’s Compass/BeiDou-2 GNSS system.

Together with its WORK Microwave partner, IFEN has added the BeiDou B1 civil signal to its current suite of GNSS signal generation capabilities, which include GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and SBAS. The companies used the modulation scheme and signal specifications outlined in accordance with the latest version of the Compass/BeiDou Signal in Space Interface Control Document.

IP Solutions ReGen software simulator GUI

Tokyo, Japan–based IP Solutions has released its ReGen GNSS DIF Signal Simulator, a software simulator that simulates ionospheric effects, generates digital IF (DIF) signals similar to those recorded by an RF recorder, and comes with an optional capability of simulating integrated inertial navigation.
