International Technical Symposium on Navigation and Timing Held This Week in Toulouse, France

The International Technical Symposium on Navigation and Timing (ITSNT) is an annual event organized by CNES (Centre national d’études spatiales) and ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile) for professionals and researchers working with or interested in navigation and timing technologies and their use. This year’s event is taking place this week, Nov. 13-16, in Toulouse, France, on the campus of ENAC.

The Death of Old Time? – NIST Cutting WWV

The deck of a tall ship rolled heavily beneath me as a freshening wind whistled through the rigging. ESA Trainees Develop Smartphone Apps to View Galileo Satellites

The European Space Agency (ESA) recently ran an internal competition for its trainees to develop an app capable of making positioning fixes using only Galileo satellites. ESA challenged these young graduate and national trainees to develop smartphone apps to perform satellite navigation fixes solely with the use of Galileo satellites. Three teams developed apps in their spare time, presenting their results to a jury of experts from ESA, the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA) and Google.

The JNC, sponsored by the Military Division of the Institute of Navigation, will be held July 9-11, 2018 (FOUO U.S. ONLY) at the Hyatt Regency, Long Beach in Long Beach, California; and the U.S. ONLY CLASSIFIED sessions will be held July 12, 2018 at The Aerospace Corporation.

Book your hotel room by Friday, June 15 to take advantage of discounted conference hotel room rates – Plus, save an additional $200 on your conference registration when staying in the conference hotel. To claim this discount you will be asked to enter your reservation confirmation number from the Hyatt Regency Long Beach at the start of the registration process. Admission to the classified session will be limited to the capacity of the room and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, to those who submitted visit requests in advance. Attendees requiring onsite security validation will be processed on a space-available basis.  You are encouraged to submit your visit request early.
