2016 ITS World Congress: Intelligent Transportation Systems

Little Bourke Street, Melbourne

The 23rd world congress on intelligent transportation systems will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 10 through October 14, 2016. ITS Australia hosts this year’s event on behalf of ITS Asia Pacific, ITS America and ERTICO.

Melbourne is know for its intelligent transport system network that has become one of the best in the world. The conference organizers expect 7,000 international delegates and 300 exhibitors.

IWGRS2016: IEEE Workshop on Geoscience and Remote Sensing 2016

2016 PNT Symposium at Stanford

The Stanford Center for Positioning, Navigation and Timing and the Marconi Society jointly sponsor the 10th Annual PNT Symposium at Stanford on November 1, 2 and 3. It will take place at the Kavli and Panofsky Auditoriums at the Stanford National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park.

A highlight of this year’s event is the awarding of the Marconi Prize to Brad Parkinson, Stanford professor emeritus, for his contributions to the development of GPS.

The Royal Institute of Navigation will host a one-day event on The Future of GNSS with speaker Prof. Terry Moore on April 21, 2016 at the Warsash Maritime Academy in Southampton, England.

FIG Working Week 2016

Earthquake recovery in Christchurch

The topic of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) working week 2016 is "Recovery from Disaster." It will take place at the Horncastle arena and Addington Events Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand from May 2 through May 6. Appropriately enough, Christchurch has deep familiarity with recovery from disaster after the 2010-11 earthquake sequence that took place there.
