Oxford Technical Solutions Ltd. (OxTS) has announced its first inertial navigation OEM board set with integrated GNSS — the xOEM500, which the company is promoting at this week’s (October 7–9, 2014) Intergeo trade show in Berlin, Germany.

Based in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, OxTS offers a variety of OEM and end user products targeting automotive, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and surveying and mapping markets. The palm-sized xOEM500 is the latest OxTS offering to OEMs and system integrators and weighs 120 grams — which includes two single-frequency (L1) u-blox GNSS receivers, a custom built MEMS-based IMU, on-board processing, and internal logging and storage.

According to the company, the xOEM500 is free from export controls and provides the following accuracies: two-meter (circular error probable) horizontal positioning in stand-alone mode, velocity (RMS) 0.1 km/h, roll/pitch (1σ) 0.05°, and heading (1σ) 0.15 degrees with two-meter antenna separation.

The unit provides NMEA outputs, a 1PPS, and event input triggers for synchronization and time stamping, as well as a 100-hertz position update rate. A full software package including post-processing is included at no extra cost.
