NavCom Introduces Multi-GNSS SF-3040 Receiver

NavCom Technology’s SF-3040 Receiver

NavCom Technology, Inc., has launched its 66-channel, SF-3040 pole-mount receiver, featuring StarFire/real-time kinematic (RTK) multi-GNSS capabilities and optimized for surveying and mapping applications.

NavCom says its new product provides real-time kinematic (RTK)–level accuracy up to 40 kilometers away from the base station or decimeter-level accuracy anywhere in the world when using the company’s StarFire global satellite-based augmentation system (GSBAS).

Powered by NavCom’s Sapphire GNSS engine, the SF-3040 provides multi-constellation support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Compass/BeiDou-2 and SBASes, including the U.S. Wide Area Augmentation System, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Services, the MTSAT Augmentation System (Japan), and the  GPS-Aided Geosynchronous Augmented Navigation system (India) in addition to StarFire.

The SF-3040 can track multiple GNSS signals, including GPS L1, L2, L2C and L5 carriers, and C/A-code, L1 P-code, L2 P-code and, L2C code; GLONASS G1and G2  carrier, and C/A- and P-code; and Galileo E1 and E5a signals.

The receiver itself measures 203 millimeters (eight inches) in diameter by 111 millimeters (4.36 inches) in height and weighs 1.45 kilograms (3.2 pounds) with batteries included.

Incorporating NavCom’s Ultra RTK and RTK Extend products, the SF-3040 provides support for high-precision positioning: 1 centimeter + 0.5ppm (horizontal) and  2 centimeters + 1ppm (vertical).

According to the company, Ultra RTK provides RTK-level accuracy up to 40 kilometers away from a base station and RTK Extend enables continuous RTK-level positioning during radio outages by allowing StarFire to take over when radio communication with an RTK base station is blocked or out of range.

The SF-3040 includes several I/O options, a compartment for an optional one-watt internal UHF radio, a removable two-gigabyte SD card, and hot-swappable batteries.

The SF-3040 is available for order through NavCom’s dealer network. More details are available on-line at the NavCom Technology website.
