Karl Fürlinger is a lecturer and senior researcher at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich, working in the area of parallel and high performance computing.

Before joining LMU Munich he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California at Berkeley, and at the NERSC supercomputing center and prior to that he was a senior research associate at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK).
