The tenth annual GEOINT Symposium and exhibition will take place on April 14-17 2014 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida.

The symposium’s theme is “Operationalizing Intelligence for Global Missions.”

The conference will cover the impacts of space weather on today’s technology in communications, navigation, spacecraft operations, aviation, and electric power. Discussion will focus on prioritizing services that can guide future research and identifying critical capabilities that can be put into practice. The event will feature keynote speakers, panel dicussions, and training sessions, including:

  • Introduction to Hyperspectral Target Detection & Material Identification


  • The Beautiful Equations and the Sound that Saved Radar

  • The Geographic Approach and Spatial Literacy Workshop

  • LiDAR Point Clouds & Modeler 101: Basic Point Cloud Exploitation 


The symposium is the largest event of the year for the defense, intelligence and homeland security communities.  The exhibit will feature technologies, solutions and services from over 250 organizations. The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) postponed the symposium, originally scheduled for October 2013, due to the shutdown of the federal government.
