J.K. Hota

J.K. Hota graduated in engineering from associated members of the Institution of Engineers India.

He joined Indian Space Research Organization in 1976.

His work has focused mainly on system engineering, integration and testing of satellite communication Earth stations and satellite payloads. He is currently working on the IRNSS project.

Kriti Khatri

Kriti Khatri received her B.E (electronics and communication) from Maharishi Dayanand University and M.Tech. (communication engineering) from Nirma University with a gold medal.

With SAC-ISRO since 2005, she is actively contributing towards the system engineering of IRNSS and GAGAN payloads.

She has developed many navigation-specific hardware innovations for satellite, including modulation schemes, signal switching, and onboard clock synchronization.

Parimal Majithiya

Parimal Majithiya received his B.E. (electronics and communication) from Gujarat University and an M.Tech degree in satellite communications from Andhra University.

He joined the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Space Applications center in 1987 and worked in the field of satellite communication and system engineering as a project manager.

Francisco Amarillo Fernández

Francisco Amarillo Fernández received his Master´s Degree in telecommunication engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM).

Since 1998 he has been working on the design and development of GNSS systems.

In 2001 he joined the European Space Agency (ESA) Technical Directorate, and since then he has worked for the Galileo program and leads numerous research activities activities in the field of GNSS evolutions.

Jaegyu Jang

Jaegyu Jang received B.S and M.S degrees and a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering at Seoul National University. He joined the Institute of Geodesy and Navigation, University of FAF in Munich in 2007.

Before moving to Munich he worked at Samsung Electronics as senior research engineer.

Angelo Joseph

Angelo Joseph is currently a principal systems engineer with Rockwell Collins in Melbourne, Florida, where he works on airborne GNSS receiver design and development.

Previously, he was at Avidyne Corporation where he developed Avidyne’s first Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) Beta-3 GPS receiver.

Angelo was also a senior GPS systems engineer with NovAtel Inc., Calgary, Alberta, Canada where he played a primary role in designing the next-generation WAAS reference receiver.

Jari Nurmi

Jari Nurmi, D.Sc.(Tech), has worked as a professor at Tampere University of Technology, Finland, since 1999, and is currently in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering.

He is working on embedded computing systems, wireless localization, positioning receiver prototyping, and software-defined radio.

Heikki Hurskainen

Heikki Hurskainen received an M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and doctoral degree in computing and electrical engineering from Tampere  University of Technology (TUT), Finland.

Currently, Hurskainen is working as a research fellow at TUT’s Department of Computer Systems, where he continues to work in satellite navigation research projects.

Marco Detratti

Marco Detratti received the Laurea degree (M. Sc.) in electronic engineering from the University of Perugia (Italy) and the DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) from the University of Cantabria (Spain).

He joined ACORDE in 2005 to develop custom RF solutions for satellite applications. At present he is leading the GNSS department and is in charge of the development of navigation products and RF equipment within the company portfolio.

Ville Syrjälä received the M.Sc. degree (with honors) in communications engineering (CS/EE) from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland.

Currently, he is working as a researcher with the Department of Communications Engineering at TUT, Finland.

His general research interests are in communications signal processing and signal processing algorithms for flexible radios.

Mikko Valkama

Mikko Valkama received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees (both with honors) in electrical engineering (EE) from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland.

In 2002 he received the “Best Ph.D. Thesis” award from the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters for his dissertation entitled “Advanced I/Q signal processing for wideband receivers: Models and algorithms.”

Currently, he is a full professor in the Department of Communications Engineering at TUT.
