Günter W. Hein

Em. Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dr. h.c. Guenter W. Hein is Professor Emeritus of Excellence at the University FAF Munich.

He was ESA Head of EGNOS & GNSS Evolution Programme Dept. between 2008 and 2014, in charge of development of the 2nd generation of EGNOS and Galileo.

Prof. Hein is still organizing the ESA/JRC International Summerschool on GNSS, and is the founder of the annual Munich Satellite Navigation Summit.

Arkadiusz Szumski

Arkadiusz Szumski is a Young Graduate Trainee of the European Space Agency (ESA).

He received his engineer diploma in space telecommunication systems from Telecom Bretagne, France and a M.Sc. degree in radiocommunication from Gdansk University of Technology, Poland.

Szumski’s research interests are signal processing algorithms in the satellite signal chain. He has been involved in projects that focus particularly on frequency and phase synchronization and interference mitigation.

Ali Broumandan received his Ph.D. degree in the geomatics engineering from the University of Calgary.

He has worked in the PLAN Group as senior research associate since November 2013 where his research focuses on GNSS interference mitigation using single- and multiple-antenna processing.

Broumandan has been involved in several industrial research projects focusing on spatial/temporal GNSS signal processing.

Javier de Salas has worked in the GPS industry since 1994 and is now a director in the GPS business unit of Broadcom where he leads the GPS R&D center in Madrid, Spain.

Previously, de Salas worked at Ashtech, Magellan, and Global Locate.

He has an M.S. in electrical engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and holds eight U.S. patents on GNSS technology.

Nicklas Lindman

Nicklas Lindman is a system engineer working at the European Space Agency in the System Modelling and Functional Verification Section at ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

At ESA he supports projects and leads R&D activities in the area of system engineering, system modelling, and system simulation.

He also supports standardization activities in these areas. 

Lindman holds a master’s degree in space engineering from Umea University in Sweden.
