Gianmarco Baldini

Gianmarco Baldini is with the European Commission – Joint Research Centre in the directorate for Space, Security and Migration.

He has worked as Senior Technical Architect and System Engineering Manager in Ericsson, Lucent Technologies, Hughes Network Systems and Finmeccanica before joining the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in 2007 as a Scientific Officer.

Eduardo Cano-Pons

Eduardo Cano-Pons received the Master degree in Telecommunications in 2002 from the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona. He was awarded a PhD in 2006 from the University of Limerick in Ireland in the area of Ultra-Wideband Impulse Radio systems.

Since February 2016, he is working with the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Ispra and his main areas of research are interference modelling for wireless networks and signal processing techniques for GNSS and wireless communication.

Ciro Gioia

Ciro Gioia received his MS in Nautical Sciences from Parthenope University, Italy, in 2009. In 2014, he successfully defended his PhD thesis at the same University.

From May 2013 to April 2014, he was a visiting researcher at the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC). From May 2014 to June 2016 he worked as an external consultant at the JRC.

Currently, Gioia is a Scientific/Technical Project Officer at the European Commission JRC.

K. S. Parikh

K. S. Parikh, Outstanding Scientist, received Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication in the year 1986.

He joined Space Applications Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation, India as an RF and Microwave engineer. He was involved in the design, development and space qualification of satellite payload systems for communication satellites, and was also responsible for the development of high power passive microwave components for satellite communication payload.

Yu (Jade) T. Morton

Dr. Yu (Jade) T. Morton is an electrical engineering Professor at Colorado State University.

She received a PhD in electrical engineering from Penn State and was a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining CSU, she was a professor at Miami University, where she led the creation of its Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.

John J. Hall is a PhD student at Colorado State University.

He received his master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Colorado State University in 2016, and B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Miami University, Oxford in 2014.

Hall’s research interests include digital and statistical signal and image processing, adaptive filtering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Yu Jiao

Yu Jiao is a PhD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University.

She received her master’s degree in Computational Science and Engineering from Miami University in 2013 and bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Information Engineering from Beihang University (Formerly Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics), China in 2011.

Jiao’s research interests are in GNSS signal processing and ionosphere effects on GNSS.

Hai Pham

Hai Pham studied Physics and Computer Science, receiving his MSc from Queen’s University, Canada in 2000.

Pham has worked in various R&D roles both in the private public sectors before joining the National Research Council Canada Frequency and Time group as a Research Council Officer.

He has a particular interest in the application of computing to emerging technologies and its impact to society.

Bill Hoger received his Electrical Engineering degree in 2008 from Carleton University, Canada.

He has been working with the Frequency and Time group of the National Research Council Canada since 1994, primarily on time dissemination systems.

Marina Gertsvolf

Marina Gertsvolf received her PhD in Physics from the University of Ottawa, Canada in 2009.

Since 2009 she has been working as a Research Officer with National Research Council Canada in Frequency and Time Group.

Gertsvolf works on timescales, time dissemination and frequency standards development.

Andre Charbonneau

Andre Charbonneau works at the National Research Council Canada in the Research Computing Support Group.

For several years he has worked closely with the Frequency and Time Group providing system administration and software development assistance.

Charbonneau holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa (1999).

Frans G. von der Dunk

Professor Dr. Frans G. von der Dunk holds the Harvey and Susan Perlman Alumni / Othmer Chair of Space Law at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s LL.M. Program on Space and Telecommunication Law since January 2008.

He also is Director of Black Holes BV, Consultancy in space law and policy, based in Leiden.
