Nirmala Srinivasan obtained her master’s degree in mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai.
She heads the Navigation Modeling and Estimation Division of the ISRO’s Space Navigation Group and is responsible for the ionospheric studies for GAGAN and IRNSS, IRNSS clock characterization, user algorithms, and constellation studies.

S. C. Ratnakara obtained his master’s degree in Mathematics from Mysore University, Karnataka, India.
He has been working in the fields of space debris simulation, modelling and decay analysis, and IRS position determination using GPS and the satnav program of ISRO.
Ratnakara is the deputy project director for IRNSS and also heads the Space Navigation Group, leading the IRNSS navigation software team.

A. S. Ganeshan received his master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
He has initiated and led several activities such as space debris modelling, Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) position determination using GPS; re-entry, rendezvous, and docking, and planetary missions.

Amedeo Arena is a tenured assistant professor at the University of Naples “Federico II” School of Law, where he teaches European Union Law and International Law, as well as a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo Graduate Schools for Law and Policy.
He graduated in law from the University of Rome, holds LLM degrees from King’s College London and New York University, and completed a Ph.D. and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Naples “Federico II”.

Monica Visintin is an associate professor of signal theory and digital communications at Politecnico di Torino.
She received her master of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from Politecnico di Torino.
Visintin’s main research activities are in the field of satellite and optical communications. She is a member of IEEE.

Serge Bories received an Engineer Diploma in Electronics in the field of Microwaves from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), in Toulouse, France, and a Ph.D. degree at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées (ENSTA) in Paris, France on the subject of ultrawideband (UWB) antenna design for multimedia communications.
In the last decade, Bories has worked for several national and European R&D projects on UWB systems. Recently he joined the CEA-Leti-Minatec in Grenoble, France.

Fabio Zacchello is a telecommunication engineer. He is currently employed at Aermatica S.p.A., a UAV manufacturer, as software engineer and remote pilot.
Zacchello focuses on hardware/ software and software/software integration, and his background is with manned and unmanned avionics development.

Esther López Casariego received her M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cantabria, Spain.
She joined Erzia Space in 2003, participating in European Space Agency–funded research projects dealing with onboard communication systems.

María Campo-Cossío Gutiérrez received her M.D. in telecommunications engineering and her M.D. in Computation.
She is currently in charge of the Industrial Automation and Robotics unit at the Technological Center of Components, Spain, where she focuses her researching activities on real-time control systems and navigation systems, with GPS navigation being her main area of interest.

S. C. Bera received a B.Sc. degree (with honors) in physics from Presidency College, Calcutta, B. Tech. and M. Tech. degrees in radio physics and electronics from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, and a Ph.D. degree in Microwave Engineering from Gujarat University.
Since 1994, he has been with the ISRO Space Applications Centre, where he has been involved in design and development of various microwave active subsystems being used in many communication and navigation payload projects.

Francisco Javier de Blas holds a M. Sc. degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Airport Systems from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM).
After working in aircraft training & operations for EADS-CASA, he worked for SENASA (Services and Studies for Air Navigation and Aeronautical Safety & Security) for four years.
