Topcon Launches Transplanting Guidance and Control Technology for Specialty Farmers

LIVERMORE, Calif.—Topcon Agriculture has introduced Transplanting Control, a new system for specialty farmers. Designed to reduce labor, boost efficiency and increase production, the turnkey system provides global navigation satellite system (GNSS) based guidance, auto-steering and control, benefitting producers of permanent and perennial trees, fruits and vegetable crops, the company said.

NTS-3: Advancing PNT

The Navigation Technology Satellite-3, or NTS-3, is expected to change the architecture for satellite navigation and to deliver more robust PNT capabilities to warfighters. The experimental satellite will broadcast new signals from near-geosynchronous orbit (GEO), breaking the mold of how we currently view GPS and modernizing the service. The satellite recently just entered its next phase: preparation for a late 2023 launch.

Navigating Emergencies with a Low-RF CARS

The prototype, consisting of a single Tx-Rx communication link, was tested in indoor-to-indoor, outdoor-to-outdoor and outdoor-to-indoor communication scenarios and in both static and dynamic conditions. The outdoor-to-indoor results indicate that, with further development, the Civilian and Assets Recovery System (CARS) is a promising navigation and positioning technology.
