5th ESA Workshop on Satellite Navigation Technologies (NAVITEC)

"Multi-GNSS Navigation Technologies: The Beginning of a New Age" is the theme of the 5th ESA Workshop on Satellite Navigation Technologies.

In addition to multi-GNSS issues, the event will focus on signal design, signal processing, GNSS payload technology effects and integration of navigation technologies with communication services.

The European Space Agency event will be held from December 8 to 10, 2010 at ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands.

CISME 2010: China (Shanghai) International Mapping & Surveying Equipment

The 2010 CISME exhibition, including three GNSS-related symposia, will be held at the Shanghai EverBright Convention Center April 8 through 10.

"Digital China Based on Innovation" is the them of the China (Shanghai) International Mapping and Surveying Equipment exhibition.

The three symposia covering GPS, GIS and remote sensing technologies, are: 2010 National Survey Technology, 2010 Shanghai Remote Sensing Technology and 2010 Shanghai Geophysics.

NaviForum 2010 Conference

Shanghai Exhibition Center

The Compass/Beidou 2 satellite navigation system will be the focus of China’s 2010 NaviForum.

It will be held from September 1 to 3 2010 in Friendship Hall at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, one of the landmarks of Shanghai. It was built in 1955 and named the "Sino-Soviet Friendship Building."

NaviForum will take place during the 2010 World Expo.

NaviForum will be incorporated into the Intelligent Transportation Systems conference, ITS Conference and Expo Shanghai.

APEC GIT/14: Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation GNSS Implementation Team Meeting

The 14th Meeting of the APEC Global Navigation Satellite System Implementation Team will be held at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Seattle, Washington USA from June 21-24, 2010.

Registration is open online at the web address below.

The last meeting held in Singapore tabled a draft strategy for 2010-15 that emphasized intermodal GNSS transportation applications. It will also serve as the focus of the Seattle meeting.

The Asia Oceania Region Workshop on GNSS is a new event organized by Japan’s space agency and Satellite Positioning Research and Applications Center and GISTDA, Thailand’s space agency.

It will take place at the Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok hotel on Monday and Tuesday, January 25-26, 2010.

Trimble Dimensions China User Conference 2009

Trimble will hold its first user conference in China on December 15-17 at the Jiuhua Resort and Conference Center in Beijing. It will cover civilian technology only.

The theme "Exploration Has No Boundaries," draws comparisons between 15th century navigator Zhenghe, the 2008 space mission Shenqui, and the use of positioning technology to steer exploration.

Trimble head Steve Bergland will deliver one of the conference keynotes.

China Reveals Updated Compass/ Beidou-2 GNSS Signal Plan

A new Compass signal and frequency plan introduced at a recent International Committee on GNSS (ICG) working group meeting fills in some of the gaps on China’s current thinking about its GNSS system.

The presentation on the new Compass (Beidou-2) plan came at a July
30–31 workshop of the ICG Working Group A – Compatibility and
Interoperability (WG-A), in Vienna.
