2008 is the 99th anniversary of the Berlin Air Show, held in the southern section of Berlin-Schönefeld Airport every two years.

It will showcase European and international space activities from Tuesday, May 27 May through Sunday, June 1. German Chancellor Angela Merkel will open the show on Tuesday afternoon.

In Hall 9, an International Space Village will be exclusively devoted to space, presenting the entire range of activities, products and services available in Europe and elsewhere.

The European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) will present ongoing and future European and German space projects, including multimedia presentations of Moon and Mars research projects. the European satellite navigation system Galileo, Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) initiative, and space telecommunications and their applications.

With more than 1.000 exhibitors from over 40 countries, 115,000 trade visitors and 250,000 visitors in total, the event is one of the largest aerospace trade shows in the world.

ILA attracts trade visitors and official delegations from the USA, EU and NATO member states and particularly from Central and Eastern Europe and Russia. India will be a partner country of the ILA Berlin Air Show this year.
