Nobel Peace Prize winner and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore will keynote the International CTIA Wireless 2009 spring trade show on Friday morning, April 3, at the conference location, The Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gore is a member of the board of directors of Apple Inc and a senior advisor to Google, both members of CTIA, the wireless industry association.

Conference organizers expect 1,200 exhibitors and 40,000 attendees. Education sessions take place on April 1 and 2. One of the four tracks, The Blueprint of Convergence, targets engineers; application developers; hardware, handset, and infrastructure manufacturers, network system architects, programmers and other technology-oriented participants.

CTIA Wireless will take place in partnership with the International Engineering Consortium. Their conference, BBWF Unwired (Broadband World Forum) emphasizes fixed mobile convergence and will take place March 31 through April 2 at the same location.
Sessions will focus on how fixed and wireless carrier networks are migrating towards a single, common infrastructure. Preliminary tracks include:
• Broadband content, entertainment and applications
• Wireless broadband convergence
• Broadband networking technologies and architecture
• IPTV futures
Another co-located event, Tower Technology Summit focuses on cell tower infrastructure and targets network and RF engineers.
