Roland Kameni

Roland Kameni graduated as a civil aviation engineer specialized in electronics and now serves as the head of the R&D Department at ASECNA and in support to ASECNA strategic planning.

Within the Agency, he has developed various roles such as being head of maintenance at ASECNA Douala Airport (Cameroun) and during 1996 at ASECNA HQ, involved on various projects related to communications, navigation and surveillance as well as in charge of many studies within the air navigation domain.

Kameni has been involved on ASECNA preliminary GNSS cooperation activities across the African continent, in particular on the RIMS mobile stations installation for the EGNOS Test Bed for Africa between 2002 and 2004. He has also been in charge on RIMS station installation at Nouakchott (Mauritania), a European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) RIMS site dedicated to the extension of EGNOS in the south of Europe.

He is now managing technical projects of the ASECNA GNSS-EGNOS program, such as preliminary feasibility studies, R&D projects (e.g. SIRAJ, ACCEPTA), the ionospheric characterization activities on the equatorial region (e.g. SAGAIE, MONITOR) and the preparation activities to the upcoming preliminary architecture definition study (phase B).
