Pacific Crest Launches New ADL Data Modem

Pacific Crest, a Trimble company, has introduced the new ADL Sentry, a UHF radio for remote communications.

An high-speed, data radio modem designed for the demanding environments of remote sensing and environmental monitoring, the ADL Sentry joins the Advanced Data Link (ADL) product line that includes the ADL Foundation, a transceiver OEM modem board; the ADL RXO, a receive-only OEM board; and the ADL Vantage, a 4-Watt programmable UHF radio for survey applications.

The ADL Sentry is a 0.1-4.0 Watt radio modem that uses Pacific Crest’s next-generation ADL technology and is backward-compatible with existing Pacific Crest, Trimble, and other companies’ products. Using metal construction, the ADL Sentry resists impacts and electromagnetic interference and has an IP67 rating that reflects its capability to withstand harsh weather and outdoor conditions.

The ADL Sentry is available in two 40-MHz frequency bands (390-430 and 430-470 MHz) that cover the entire commercial UHF band. It also allows the user to select from available channel tables in either 12.5 or 25 kHz channel bandwidth and offers higher bit rates to handle large data packets and configuration control commands on the same channel.

The ADL Sentry and a full range of antenna, power, mounting, and cabling accessories are currently available through Pacific Crest’s international network of authorized dealers.
