• the build-up of the Chinese COMPASS system,

• the development of new regional satellite systems like the Japanese QZSS and the Indian IRNSS,

• the development of new regional augmentation systems like the Indian GAGAN and the Australian GRAS,

• the launch of the SBAS Nigerian satellite NIGCOMSAT-1
