This new international conference on GNSS technologies and applications for the development of sub-Saharan African countries will take place May 30 and 31 at the new bayside Terrou-Bi hotel and conference center in Dakar, Senegal.
The event targets entrepreneurs and companies from the EU and Africa that use GNSS technologies. The event is designed to showcase and promote African technical competencies with solid potential for success using EGNOS and Galileo services and the space sector in general.

The event targets entrepreneurs and companies from the EU and Africa that use GNSS technologies. The event is designed to showcase and promote African technical competencies with solid potential for success using EGNOS and Galileo services and the space sector in general.
It will be chaired by ACSAL, Association pour la coopération scientifique Europe Afrique.
The meeting hopes to promote positive collaboration between African industry and university students, position local industry to take advantage of activities in this sector, and to introduce EU industry to this growing market.
Attendance is free, but approval is required.
Presentation topics include:
- Social assistance localization
- GNSS-based livestock localization
- GNSS for localization and control of fishing boats and vessels along the coasts
- Fleet management and tracking, perishable cargo status
- GNSS-based emergency response, search and rescue
- Precise cadastre and Time Reference System, mapping and data access
- GNSS education and training capacity building
