Panelists include a long-time leader in Europe’s GNSS user equipment industry and technical and policy experts from the three organizations responsible for creation of the Galileo GNSS and the rollout of its services.

PANELISTS
Jérémie Godet is head of sector for Galileo Implementation at the European Commission. Previously he served as head of the Security Department at the European GNSS Agency (GSA) and as the European Commission’s Security, Signal and Frequencies team leader on the Galileo Program. Godet was the chairman of the Galileo Signal Task Force. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications de Bretagne (Télécom Bretagne, France) and received an M.S. degree from the International Space University.

Marco Lisi serves as the GNSS services engineering manager at the European Space Agency (ESA) in the Directorate of Galileo Program and Navigation Related Activities. In this position he is responsible for the engineering and exploitation of services based on the European navigation infrastructures, Galileo and EGNOS, also advises the executive director of the European GNSS Agency (GSA). After getting a doctorate in engineering (summa cum laude) at the University of Rome, he worked for more than 30 years in the aerospace and telecommunications sectors, covering managerial positions in R&D, engineering, and programs, both in industry and in institutional organizations.

Fiammetta Diani is deputy head of market development at the European GNSS Agency (GSA) where she has worked since 2009. Before joining the GSA, she worked in the private sector for more than 10 years, in both the aerospace and information technology industries, gaining extensive experience in applications of space-based technologies for the transport sector. Diani holds a Master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a post-graduate master in economics and business administration of governmental and not-for-profit organizations from University of Ferrara, in Italy

Peter Grognard is the CEO of Thales Alenia Space Leuven, Belgium. In 2000, he founded Septentrio Navigation, a designer and manufacturer of GNSS receivers based in Leuven, Belgium, and served as its CEO until 2014. From 1994 to 1998 Grognard was the science and technology counselor for the Embassy of Belgium to the United States. He received an M.S. in computer science and a M.S. degree in engineering and applied physics from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, and an M.S. in aeronautics from Caltech.

MODERATOR

Demoz Gebre-Egziabher is on the faculty of aerospace engineering & mechanics department at University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, USA where teaches and conducts PNT-related research. His research deals with the use of GNSS in transportation applications and the design of multi-sensor navigation and attitude determination systems for aerospace vehicles. He hold a Ph.D in aeronautics & astronautics from Stanford University.
