European Satellite Navigation Competition Kick-off (Galileo Masters)

The 2009 European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) kicks off at the European Commission Representation in Spain in Madrid on March 16 and 17 2009.

Also called the Galileo Masters, it is an annual international contest for the best GNSS applications ideas from eleven European regions, Taiwan, and Australia.

Past winners, regional authorities and international experts will all be present at the conference. The event also includes updates on the status of Galileo.

A Bavarian region kick-off will be held on March 24 and another regional kick-off will be held in Taiwan on April 16 and 17.

Ideas for the 2009 contest will be accepted from May 1 until July 31 through the online database at www.galileo-masters.com. Individuals, companies, entrepreneurs, research institutes and universities may participate. Registered participants may continue to develop their idea as long as the database is open.

The 2009 Prizes will be awarded on October 21 at the Munich Residence in Germany.

The ESNC is supported by the European Space Agency (ESA), the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA), the European Commission, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and a number of GNSS-related companies.
