GSAB Project Demonstrates Assisted Port Operations Solution

The Grimaldi Satellite Autonomous Berthing (GSAB) project, funded by the European Space Agency’s NAVISP program, has developed a system enabling automatic, high-precision port berthing operations in large (200m) carrier ships. The system provides ships’ captains and crew with an overview of ship conditions in real time in port settings, including detailed information on maneuvering operations to be performed.

Breaking the Formation: The Impact of GNSS Spoofing on UAV Swarms

It has been widely demonstrated that GNSS-based localization technologies are vulnerable to signal jamming and spoofing/replay attacks, where a receiver can be either denied positioning or deceived to compute a forged PVT solution. Today, it is possible to spoof a GNSS receiver to any arbitrary location and time in the world with many incidents being reported in the wild.

Weekend Read: Technical University of Denmark Researchers Use GNSS Data to Monitor Ice Loss in Greenland

Researchers at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) have developed a method to monitor daily ice loss in Greenland using data from 61 GPS stations installed on the bedrock around the island. This approach allows for precise tracking of ice melt, providing day-by-day data that enhances understanding of sudden changes in ice mass, especially during the summer.
