Barcelona the Site for Applanix Airborne User Group Event

Applanix, a Trimble company, invites you to its 2018 Airborne User Group Meeting in Barcelona, Spain, Nov. 27-29, 2018.

Come experience beautiful Barcelona, an enchanting seaside city with boundless culture, fabled architecture, and a world-class dining and entertainment scene. The company picked the best hotel, right on La Rambla in the heart of it all, and is planning two evening events that will showcase the local food, drinks, and entertainment. Attendees will get the full experience of this beautiful and historic city on the sea.

This year’s meeting will take place over three days and will have three main goals:

  • Deliver an information-filled training experience on POSPac MMS and POSPac UAV, the APX series of boards, and POS products
  • Give customers and partners an opportunity to share their most recent projects and experiences
  • Networking opportunities to make sure we can all learn from each other

Sessions over the 3-day agenda will include a Direct Georeferencing Workshop, a discussion of manned vs. unmanned aerial survey, and great training workshops with the Applanix Customer Support Team.

Corey Houle, co-founder and CTO, TwingTec AG, will deliver a keynote speech on TwingTec, Wind Energy 2.0 : A general overview of TwingTec’s approach to airborne wind energy using a tethered drone. A mechanical engineer from Canada, Houle moved to Switzerland more than 10 years ago and has succeeded in combining his passion for kites and drones with renewable energies. As co-founder and CTO of TwingTec AG, he is responsible for the technical and commercial development of the company.
