It is organized by the International Association of Geodesy (IAG), the surveyors’ international association (FIG) and the UN’s International Committee on GNSS (ICG).

The seminar is designed for practicing geodesists and surveyors in industry and government. It is also open to academics in post-graduate study or master’s degrees in surveying or related disciplines.
Topics include the role of geodesy—Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS); global Terrestrial Reference Systems and Frames; regional and national reference systems; IGS services and other initiatives; four dimensional deformation models for Terrestrial Reference Frames; gravity and WHS; worked examples of Terrestrial Reference Frame realisations; multi GNSS Environment; standards and traceability of a Terrestrial Reference Frames / GNSS.
