APEC GIT/14: Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation GNSS Implementation Team Meeting

The 14th Meeting of the APEC Global Navigation Satellite System Implementation Team will be held at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Seattle, Washington USA from June 21-24, 2010.

The last meeting held in Singapore tabled a draft strategy for 2010-15 that emphasized intermodal GNSS transportation applications. It will also serve as the focus of the Seattle meeting.

The co-chairs encourage industry members to attend. An industry round table will be held on Tuesday, June 22.

The Asia-Pacific Economic  Cooperation (APEC) is an inter-governmental forum that facilitates economic growth, cooperation, trade  and investment in the Asia-Pacific region for its 21 member economies.

Its GNSS Implementation Team (GIT) has focused on air traffic control and aviation issues. The group has broadened  its focus to the application of GNSS in all transportation sectors.

Karen VanDyke, United States, and Noppadol Pringvanich, Thailand, are co-chairs.

The 21 member economies are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China (PRC), Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan ROC (Chinese Taipei), Thailand,the United States and Viet Nam.
