Apogee Awarded $103.6M to Support DoD Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Modernization

Colorado Springs-based Apogee has been awarded a five-year, $103.6 million task order to provide positioning, navigation, and timing contractor support services for the Department of Defense, supporting modernization, acquisition, and sustainment planning across the global PNT enterprise.

The work centers on GPS technologies that underpin U.S. military operations, allied forces, and critical infrastructure. Apogee will deliver technical expertise and mission support across Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, and Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, working in collaboration with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center to advance next-generation PNT solutions and improve system performance and reliability.

The award comes as DoD continues to evolve its acquisition strategy for resilient PNT capabilities, with the task order specifically targeting enhancements to existing GPS control systems and accelerated delivery of operational capabilities following recent shifts in that approach.

“This award reflects both the urgency and importance of delivering resilient PNT capabilities to the warfighter,” said Frank Varga, CEO of Apogee. “Our team remains steadfast and committed to evolving the way the Department acquires and advances its weapons systems.”

Apogee describes itself as a multi-domain firm with expertise in digital transformation, science and technology, adaptive acquisition, and mission operations. The company said it is actively hiring across those domains to meet growing program demands.
