Since September 2006, the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA) and an EADS-led consortium have been managing PACIFIC (PRS Application Concept Involving Future Interested Customers), the first EU 6th Framework Program project dedicated to the Galileo Public Regulated Service (PRS). The main objective of the project is to pave the way for the introduction of the Galileo PRS.

In April 2008, the PACIFIC project will complete its activities and organize a second workshop dedicated to the Galileo PRS to be held at the Agora Einstein Conference Centre in the Sophia Antipolis technology park in Nice, France.

This event will provide an update on the Galileo program and PRS, present the outcomes of the PACIFIC project, including a consolidated overview of the PRS market, a characterization of the prospective PRS user communities, receiver development and proposals for PRS management, and to identify the activities to be undertaken in the short and medium terms for fostering development of PRS.

Workshop participants will include representatives of the PRS user communities, public institutions and agencies, and equipment manufacturers, system integrators, and service providers. Interested persons may register on the PACIFIC website (address below).
