TRANSNAV Symposium 2009

The 8th navigational symposium on marine navigation and safety of sea transportation will be held at Gdynia Maritime University in June.

Scientists and navigation professionals from a number of countries will share their knowledge, experience and research results in all aspects of navigation, safety of navigation, and sea transportation.

Scientists and navigation professionals from a number of countries will share their knowledge, experience and research results in all aspects of navigation, safety of navigation, and sea transportation.

The opening and plenary sessions, presentations and panels will be held in English. A list of the 134 accepted papers from 31 countries  is available here.

The conference proceedings, "Marine Navigation and Safety of Sea Transportation," will be published by Taylor Francis Group.

The chair of the organizing committee is Prof. Dr. Adam Weintrit, Master Mariner. The event is sponsored by the Faculty of Navigation of the university, and the Nautical Institute.

Gdynia seaport, the city of Gdansk, and the spa town of Sopot comprise
the metropolitan area of Tricity (Trojmiasto) on the south coast of the
Baltic.
