Mark Hardesty is the flight test director for Boeing’s Unmanned Little Bird (ULB) program, having led numerous flight test campaigns including various weapons, sensor, and communication relay integration efforts.

Mark Hardesty is the flight test director for Boeing’s Unmanned Little Bird (ULB) program, having led numerous flight test campaigns including various weapons, sensor, and communication relay integration efforts.

Most recently Hardesty designed and led test campaigns to demonstrate precision autonomous terminal operations of the H-6U Unmanned Little Bird for maritime operations, including a helipad equipped trailer at Spaceport America in New Mexico, a super yacht off the Florida coast, and finally on a French frigate in the Mediterranean Sea.

Hardesty attended North Carolina State University where he earned both B.S. and Master’s degrees in mechanical engineering.

Since joining Boeing in 1986, he has authored numerous technical publications and earned several patents relating to precision navigation and helicopter robotics technology.
