The 11th Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) European Congress and industry exhibition will be held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow, Scotland June 6 – 9, 2016.

This year’s theme is "Delivering Future Cities Now." Glasgow is the home of Europe’s first computerized traffic control system, started in 1967. The ITS Congress consists of three main areas; Congress program (sessions and presentations of the latest developments in ITS), Demonstration (showcases of current ITS technology being developed and deployed throughout the world) and Exhibition (exhibition booths and dedicated sessions/events).

Of particular interest to Inside GNSS readers is Topic 3: New transport services from satellite technologies. This topic will develop the themes introduced in the Bordeaux ITS World Congress: communication, earth observation, positioning and new space technologies relevant to ITS.

The 11th European ITS Congress 2016 is organized by ERTICO – ITS Europe in partnership with the European Commission, and is hosted by Glasgow City Council and Transport Scotland.
