David Last is a radionavigation expert and consultant, past president of the Royal Institute of Navigation, and professor emeritus at the University of Bangor, Wales.
Before his retirement in 2005, he headed the university’s Radionavigation Group. He is a past president of the International Loran Association, a fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), and a Chartered Engineer (CEng).

He holds a B.Sc.(Eng) from University of Bristol, a Ph.D from University of Sheffield, and a D.Sc. from University of Wales. He lives and works in Conwy, UK.
