The 53rd meeting of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee (CGSIC) will take place on Monday and Tuesday, September 16 and 17 just before the opening of the ION GNSS conference at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The keynote speaker at Tuesday morning’s plenary is a Smithsonian
geographer, Dr. Andrew K. Johnston, who will talk about the museum’s new
permanent exhibit "Time and Navigation: The Untold Story of Getting
from Here.

The plenary session also includes a number of GNSS reports and updates from:
- National Coordination Office for Space-Based Positioning, Navigation and Timing
- U.S. Air Force, GPS Directorate
- USAF, Second Space Operations Squadron
- State Department, Space and Advanced Technology office
- Homeland Security, Geospatial Management office
Later on in the afternoon, program updates on WAAS, GBAS and NGPS will be given, as well as a L2C/L5 CNAV test report.
