Trimble has released the SX10 scanning total station that merges high-speed 3D scanning, imaging technology, and total station measurements for surveyors, the company said.
"This is the top one or two [products] we have launched in the 20 years I’ve been here," said Ron Bisio, Trimble geospatial division vice president, at a media day in Westminster, Colorado, October 5.

NovAtel VEXXIS antennasNovAtel Inc. has introduced its new VEXXIS series of GNSS antennas as well as two new inertial measurement unit (IMU) products for its SPAN technology portfolio.

Septentrio_PolaRx5TRSeptentrio has received a contract from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for 35 PolaRx5 GNSS receivers, the company said. The receivers, which consist of 25 reference stations and 10 timing instruments, will be used in the NASA Global GNSS Network (GGN).
In other company news, Septentrio rolled out its new PolaRx5TR GNSS receiver. The unit has 544 hardware channels, features a calibration circuit, and supports all major constellations including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, and IRNSS, the company said.

Spirent Communications plc’s Positioning Technology Unit has announced the GSS200D Interference Detection and Analysis solution, developed as part of Spirent’s partnership with Nottingham Scientific Limited.
The GSS200D comprises field-based hardware and a secure data server for automatic capture and analysis of GNSS radio frequency interference. According to the Paignton, UK–based company, deployments of GSS200D probes provide users with a thorough understanding of the RF interference (RFI) environment at sites of interest.

Eclipse P326Hemisphere GNSS has introduced two new OEM boards, the Eclipse P326 and P327, designed for machine control, land or marine survey, and agriculture applications. The boards support GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and Japan’s QZSS (Quasi-Zenith Satellite System).
The boards are the first within the Eclipse product line to have refreshed low-power capability, reduced size, cost, and weight, the company said. P326 and P327 offer centimeter-level accuracy in either single- or multi-frequencies, using signals from multiple GNSS constellations. and Atlas-capable modes.

Spectracom has introduced two timing-related products, the GSG 6-Series GPS/GNSS simulator for testing receivers’ timing capabilities and the SecureSync Timing Reference with enhanced Loran (eLoran) backup capability for GNSS.
NovAtel has released its GPS-173-GGG-N and GPS-713-GGGL-N explosive atmosphere- (ATEX)–qualified GNSS marine antennas with Inmarsat rejection filters.
The triple-frequency antennas are based on the company’s Pinwheel technology. Both antennas receive GPS L1, L2, and L5; GLONASS L1, L2, and L3 ; BeiDou B1 and B2; and Galileo E1 and E5a/b frequencies. The antennas can also receive satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) signals and those from Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) satellites.
Vulcano 127-millimeter artillery shellRockwell Collins is integrating its NavFire Precision Positioning Service (PPS) GPS into Leonardo-Finmeccanica’s VULCANO naval and artillery weapons systems. Rockwell says it customized the NavFire receivers for the customer’s ammunition and provided support during testing.
Vulcano is a family of unguided (BER) and guided (GLR) ammunition for the 76- and 127-millimeter naval guns and 155-millimeter land artillery systems built by Leonardo, an Italian company known as Finmeccanica until its renaming earlier this year.

Clarion NXR16 with Furuno GV-86 GPS/dead reckoning-moduleFuruno’s GV-86 GPS receiver chip with its dead-reckoning DR/GNSS module will be integrated into Clarion’s NXR16 car navigation systems for the auto-leasing and car rental industries.
The GV-86 features a dead-reckoning-enabled GNSS receiver that receives concurrent GPS, satellite-based augmentation system, and Quasi-Zenith Satellite System signals. The dead-reckoning capability allows the unit to provide positioning while in such harsh environments as tunnels, urban canyons, and underground parking garages where GNSS signals may be blocked, the company said.
