By Peter GutierrezA look at the KASS architecture and the performance results achieved during the site qualification phase with the KASS operational configuration fully deployed.
By Inside GNSSAdvanced Navigation, a provider of assured positioning navigation and timing (APNT) technologies, has finalized a USD $6 million deal with Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA). Under the deal, Advanced Navigation will supply HDA with 138 Boreas D70 units, a strategic-grade digital fiber-optic gyroscope (DFOG) inertial navigation system (INS), as part of the LAND 400 Phase 3 program.
By Inside GNSSJoin us for an exclusive webinar exploring how Assured C-Band Command and Control (C2) systems are revolutionizing UAS operations. As unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) scale up for larger, high-altitude, and long-range missions, secure and reliable C2 communications are becoming a cornerstone of operational success. This opens significant opportunities for the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) design and integration community.
By Inside GNSSJuniper Systems has introduced a simple but ingenious device, the Geode Grip. It is basically a mounting bracket to which users can attach a GNSS receiver and a smartphone or tablet data collection device, ergonomically designed to be held easily in one hand.
By Peter GutierrezMaryland-based GNSS antenna manufacturer Maxtena is working on a new anti-jamming, anti-spoofing solution. Speaking at InterGEO 2024 in Stuttgart, Maxtena Antenna Engineer Leo Vincelj told Inside GNSS, “Right now we’re developing our own CRPA [controlled reception pattern antenna], based on a two-by-two patch plan.” CRPAs are specifically designed to reject interference signals like those used in jamming and spoofing attacks.
By Peter GutierrezEveryone who is anyone in the positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) world knows ION is the Institute of Navigation, a scientific, nonprofit organization that works to elevate navigation standards. Among other things, it spotlights the achievements of practicing navigators, scientists, and those involved in the development and production of navigation equipment.
By Peter GutierrezThe Lunar Pathfinder (LP) satellite has entered its integration and testing phase, to be completed by the end of this year (2024). Built by Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL), LP will provide communications services in the lunar orbit.
By Peter GutierrezThe SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket recently launched two Galileo satellites from the Kennedy Space Center into medium Earth orbit (MEO).
By Inside GNSSA look at the performance of the Galileo E1-B Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) in various scenarios, elucidating its logic and workflow and shedding light on its functionality and intended purpose.
By Inside GNSSCollaboration aims to leverage combined expertise and assets to deliver high-precision GNSS positioning services with increased availability, reliability and affordability for the mass market.
By Inside GNSSThere’s a clear need for GNSS corrections, but the alphabet soup of service flavors, delivery methods and business agreements make choosing the right service seem overwhelming. We break it all down and take a look at how you can use GEODNET’s web3 Network of GNSS reference stations to manage your own GNSS corrections service.
By Inside GNSSDuring NAVFEST, participants can put their equipment through real-world spoofing/jamming scenarios, and use the data collected to improve current and future solutions. We recently spoke to a few attendees as well as the company behind the ground truth infrastructure about the event and why it’s so important.
