Ciro Gioia received his MS in Nautical Sciences from Parthenope University, Italy, in 2009. In 2014, he successfully defended his PhD thesis at the same University.
From May 2013 to April 2014, he was a visiting researcher at the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC). From May 2014 to June 2016 he worked as an external consultant at the JRC.
Currently, Gioia is a Scientific/Technical Project Officer at the European Commission JRC.
