Mario Caporale

Mario Caporale is with the Italian Space Agency (ASI), serving as head of satellite navigation.

He represents ASI on matters pertaining to Galileo nationally and internationally.

Caporale is a delegate to the European Space Agency‘s Program Board on Satellite Navigation, and delegate to the GNSS Committee, and a member of the Galileo Signal Task Force. He is also a member of the EU/USA National Security Compatibility Compliance Group and the European Radio Navigation Plan Group.

Previously, he co-chaired the GNSS Action team of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) and following the establishment of the ICG (International Committee on Satellite Navigation) he is the Italian representative in the Committee.

Before joining the Italian Space Agency in 2000, Dr. Caporale worked many years for aerospace industries where he had various management responsibilities.

Caporale is a member of the Inside GNSS Editorial Advisory Council.
