The 41st scientific assembly of COSPAR, the Committee On Space Research, originally scheduled from July 30 – August 7, 2016, at Istanbul Congress Center (ICC), Istanbul, Turkey, due to the recent attempted coup by factions of the Turkish army.
COSPAR is an organization of 46 member countries that promotes space research and sharing of results, knowledge and ideas at an international level. Since 1958 COSPAR has been active in organizing scientific meetings and publishing in order to anticipate knowledge sharing and discussions contributing to space research, and makes recommendations to the United Nations and other international organizations operating in the field of space research.
