2010 UN-IAF Workshop: GNSS Applications for Human Benefit and Development

The workshop on GNSS Applications for Human Benefit and Development is sponsored by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).

It is the 20th joint UN-IAF workshop and will be held at the Prague Congress Centre (PCC) in Prague, Czech Republic just before the 61st International Astronautical Congress that runs from September 27-October 1.  Participants at either event are welcome at the other.

The workshop on GNSS Applications for Human Benefit and Development is sponsored by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).

The workshop will take place on Friday, September 24 and Saturday, September 25. The opening session speakers are Berndt Feuerbacher, IAF president; Chris De Cooker, European Space Agency; Ken Hodgkins, U.S. State Department and Takao Doi, head of the UN Programme on Space Applications.

The program includes three technical sessions:

  • Applications of GNSS technologies and services with Hodgkins and Frantisek Vejrazka, Czech Technical University
  • Applications of GNSS technologies and services with De Cooker and Miroslav Svitek, Czech Technical University
  • International and regional frameworks, initiatives and cooperation with Otto Koudelka, IAF and Blanka Kosinova, Czech Ministry of Transport.
