Inexpensive terrestrial communications have not diminished the key role of satellites. These include broadcasting, two way communications, key military and civil applications as well as bringing services to un-served and underserved regions of the world.

Satellites have also become indispensable tools for global positioning and navigation, earth observation and space exploration.

This joint conference will explore the technical, regulatory, economic, and marketing issues involved in meeting those needs.
