Sarang Thombre is a senior research scientist at the Department of Navigation and Positioning of the Finnish Geodetic Institute.
He received his Doctoral degree from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, for his research on innovations in multi-GNSS receiver testing, his B.Sc. degree (with Distinction) in electronics and telecommunications engineering (E&TC) from University of Pune (UoP), India and his M.Sc. degree (with Distinction) from Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Finland in radio frequency electronics.

Thombre has been awarded research funding from Nokia Foundation and Ulla Tuominen Foundation. He is currently a member of the board of the Nordic Institute of Navigation.
His research interests include multi-GNSS receiver implementation to study interoperability with emerging satellite navigation systems under various operating scenarios.
