The 2012 JNC – Joint Navigation Conference (Guidance, Navigation and Control) will take place from June 12 through June 15 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The 2012 JNC – Joint Navigation Conference (Guidance, Navigation and Control) will take place from June 12 through June 15 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Tutorials will be offered on Tuesday morning, FOUO (For Official Use Only) technical sessions are scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and classified sessions will take place on Friday.
The annual event is the largest endorsed U.S. military navigation conference of the year, with joint service and government participation.It will focus on technical advances in GN&C, especially on joint development, testing and support of affordable systems, logistics and integration.
Paper abstracts will be accepted until March 1, 2012.
The conference features technical presentations in more than two dozen sessions. New topics this year include:

- Atomic Clocks and Timing Applications
- Autonomous Navigation
- Battlefield Smart Phone Applications
- MEMS Inertial Measurement Unit
- Precision Azimuth Sensing

Conference organizers also welcome short proposals from companies for product demonstrations that will be shown in an FOUO environment and incorporated into the technical program. Preference will be given to proposals that include live demonstrations of the product in operation and/or videos of use in the field.
The event is highly restricted, and everyone who attends must apply and be approved before they come.
FOUO sessions June 12-14 are open to U.S. citizens only and will take place at the Crowne Plaza.
The classified sessions on Friday, June 15, will take place at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. These are open to participants from Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom as well. Citizens of those countries who wish to attend must apply to the Joint Navigation Warfare Center through their embassies by Wednesday, May 30, 2012.
The JNC is cohosted by the Joint Service Data Exchange (JSDE) and the Institute of Navigation (ION) for the U.S. Departments of Defense and Homeland Security.
