ION GNSS+, the world’s largest technical meeting and showcase of GNSS technology, products and services, will take place Sept. 16-20, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Miami in Miami, Florida.
This year’s conference will bring together international leaders in GNSS and related positioning, navigation and timing fields to present new research, introduce new technologies, discuss current policy, demonstrate products and exchange ideas.
The conference includes complimentary short courses taught by ION Masters. These courses will be provided on Monday, Sept. 16, on a complimentary basis to all paid registrants at ION GNSS+ with the compliments of the Satellite Division and the ION Master Instructors. ION Master Instructors are internationally recognized GNSS experts and educators. All of the ION Masters have generously donated their time and talents to this effort, as a service to the GNSS community, with the ION’s gratitude.
The Exhibitor Hosted Reception will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the Exhibit Hall.All exhibit booths will be open during the exhibitor-hosted reception.
Another special event, the Women in PNT: Roundtable Discussion Groups, will feature informal discussions on issues important to women at work in PNT. It will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19, from5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Hibiscus Room. Join in for an informal evening of roundtable discussions moderated by leaders in the field and formatted to promote intimate thought-provoking discussions on a variety of topics important to women in PNT. These roundtable discussions will provide a relaxing space to examine important issues and collectively share information with the goal of helping you effectively manage your professional career.
The Institute of Navigation’s (ION) Women in Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) is a voluntary networking initiative designed to support and engage women who are in the early stages of their careers in and across all areas of PNT. The initiative provides a forum for PNT professionals to meet and discuss issues vital to women on topics including, but not limited to, professionalism, career development, leadership, networking and work-life balance issues.
The Johannes Kepler and Bradford W. Parkinson Awards Luncheon will be held on the final day of the conference, Sept. 20, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Riverfront Hall North/Center.
The purpose of the Kepler Award is to honor an individual for sustained and significant contributions to the development of satellite navigation. All members of the ION are eligible.
The Bradford Parkinson Award, which honors Dr. Parkinson for his leadership in establishing both the U.S. Global Positioning Systems and the Satellite Division of The Institute of Navigation, is given to an outstanding graduate student in the field of Global Navigation Satellite Systems. The award includes a personalized plaque and a $2,500 honorarium. Any graduate student who is an ION member and is completing a degree program with an emphasis on GNSS technology, applications, or policy is eligible.
