Maurizio A. Spirito

Maurizio A. Spirito received his M.S. in electronics engineering and Ph.D. in electronics and telecommunications engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy.

From 1998 to 2003, he was with the Nokia Research Center, Helsinki, Finland. In 2003, he joined Istituto Superiore Mario Boella (ISMB), Turin, Italy, where he currently leads the Pervasive Technologies Research Area.

He is currently a research assistant at the Institute of Geomat­ics in Barcelona, Spain, where he obtained the M.Sc. in airborne photogram­metry and remote sensing.

Tom Willems

Tom Willems works as a GNSS Engineer at Septentrio.

He has been involved in GNSS research since 1998. In 2006, he received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Ghent, Belgium.

At Septentrio, he is currently involved in the development of Galileo Test User Segment receivers and is supporting their use during payload testing and in-orbit validation. His topics of interest include GNSS signal tracking and RF aspects of GNSS signal processing.

Desiree L. Craig is the chief program manager for the 746th Test Support Squadron and the 46th Test Group at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.

The 46th Test Group provides several world-premier test capabilities including the Flight Test Squadron, Holloman High Speed Test Track, the National Radar Cross Section Test Facility, the Survivability and Landing Gear Test Facilities and the Central Inertial and GPS Test Facility.

Elmar Brockmann is head of “Geodetic Bases and Permanent Networks” at the Federal Office of Topography (swisstopo) where he is responsible for the reference frame definitions in Switzerland and the monitoring of the permanent GNSS network called AGNES.

He received his Ph.D. at the University of Berne and was a software engineer at Leica Geosystems between 1997 and 1999.

Mike Perlmutter

Mike Perlmutter has worked in the inertial navigation field for more than 30 years and was a key contributor to Yole Développement’s IMU & High Performance Inertial MEMS 2011 Report.

He was the Navigation Systems Division director of strategy and planning at Northrop Grumman in 2007 when he retired from the company and established Skylight Navigation to consult in the area of inertial systems, navigation, corporate planning, and strategy.
