Septentrio Announces AsteRx-m ‘Ultra-Compact’ GPS/GLONASS RTK Receiver

Septentrio has announced plans to release the AsteRx-m, a low-power GPS/GLONASS dual-frequency RTK receiver that is smaller than a credit card.

The new board, which will begin shipping in the third quarter of 2011, is aimed specifically at integration in handheld devices, mobile computing platforms, and other solutions requiring high accuracy combined with low power in applications where space is at a premium. The new receiver covers the functionality range from GPS-L1 only to full GPS-GLONASS L1-L2

The SXBlue III-L is a compact GPS L1/L2 receiver in the world designed for use with OmniSTAR’s HP service to attain decimeter accuracy worldwide. Targeted at GIS mapping/surveying applications, the receiver measures 14 x 8 x 5.6 centimeters (5.57 x 3.15 x 2.22 inches) and weighs 517 grams (1.14 pounds) including battery.

NovAtel Announces FlexPak6 Enclosure Featuring OEM6 GNSS Technology

NovAtel Inc. has announced the launch of  its FlexPak6 GNSS enclosure, the first product to house the company’s new OEM628 multi-constellation receiver.

According to the Calgary, Alberta, Canada–based company, the 120-channel FlexPak6 is designed for easy integration into new user equipment and is capable of tracking all current and upcoming GNSS satellite signals, including GPS L1/L2/L2C/L5 (code and carrier phase), GLONASS L1/L2, Galileo E1/E5a/E5b/Alt-BOC, Compass/BeiDou-2 and satellite-based augmentation systems.

Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) and DICKEY-john Corporation, an agricultural systems and machine control manufacturer based in Auburn, Illinois, have formed a strategic relationship in the agriculture industry.

Aldacom Offers GPS/Linux PC/GPRS Breadboard

Aldacom GmbH, of Neu-Isenburg, Germany, recently announced the debut of the AldaLogic C10/3, a breadboard containing an embedded Linux PC on a surface measuring 104 x 63 millimeters.

The unit also contains a Quad-band GPRS module and SiRF3 GPS module, as well as interfaces for USB, RS232 and Ethernet components. An SD-card reader enables expansion of the standard 4 Mb of flash memory.
