Chris RizosThe founder of Australia’s largest concentration of GNSS research and development efforts has been named head of the International Association of Geodesy, part of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG)
Chris Rizos put together the Satellite Navigation and Positioning laboratory (SNAP) at the University of New South Wales in the 1990s. He has been researching and writing about high precision technology and applications of GNSS since 1985 and is a professor and head of the surveying and spatial information school at the university.

Brad Parkinson, who has received many honors for establishing and serving as the first program director of the GPS Joint Program Office (now GPS Directorate), is one of four U.S. Naval Academy graduates who will be honored in a Friday (March 25, 2011) ceremony for lifelong achievement and will receive the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association Distinguished Graduate Award.

Capt. Peter Chapman-AndrewsPeter Chapman-Andrews replaced David Broughton as director of Britain’s Royal Institute of Navigation in January. He will be the fourth director since RIN was founded in 1947.
Chapman is a graduate of Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. He served as Queen’s Harbor Master, Portsmouth, and as fleet navigation officer on the staff of CinC fleet. He also served as aircraft director officer, principal warfare officer, navigation officer and ship’s commander during his career in the Royal Navy. He retired in 2004 with the rank of captain.
