Marco Lisi

Marco Lisi, Dr. ing., is presently GNSS services engineering manager at the European Space Agency in the Directorate of Galileo Program and Navigation-related Activities.

Marco Lisi, Dr. ing., is presently GNSS services engineering manager at the European Space Agency in the Directorate of Galileo Program and Navigation-related Activities.

In this position he is responsible for the engineering and exploitation of services based on the European navigation infrastructures, Galileo and EGNOS. Lisi also served as special advisor of the European Commission on European space policy. He was previously responsible for the systems engineering, operations, and security activities in the Galileo project.

After getting a doctorate in engineering (summa cum laude) at the University of Rome, he worked for more than 30 years in the aerospace and telecommunications sectors, covering managerial positions in R&D, engineering and programs, both in industry and in institutional organizations.

Lisi is on the board of directors of the Italian Institute of Navigation (IIN) and “Honorary LifePresident” of the Italian chapter of INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering), which he founded in 2008.

He holds five international patents, extended to EC countries and to the United States, and has authored more than 200 technical papers.

Lisi is a member of the Inside GNSS Editorial Advisory Council.
