The annual International Satellite Navigation Forum, which emphasizes GLONASS innovations and commercial applications, will take place at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow, Russia on June 1 and June 2, 2011.
It is held at the same location as the Navitech Expo navigation systems, technologies and services trade fair, which runs from June 1-3.
The theme of this year’s plenary session is "GLONASS: from the creation of the satellite grouping to the creation of the market for navigation services."
Speakers, including a Russian Federation government representative, will discuss how navigation technologies figure in the Russian economy, the state of the GLONASS System and internal commercial markets, the role of foreign navigation systems on Russian territory and more.
A highlight of the event is a round table discussion on protection of GLONASS technologies from poor production and unfair competition.
Participants will be given detailed information on cellular network
positioning services and technologies, industrial
applications and subscriber equipment developed by leading Russian and
foreign companies, the experience of the top Russian companies and legal aspects of satellite navigation in Russia.
The forum is organized by GLONASS/GNSS Forum Association, a consortium of 40 key Russian companies — designers, manufacturers and end users of satellite navigation technology — whose mission is to present a "comprehensive plan for boosting development of GLONASS."
This is the fifth year for the forum, and organizers say they have designed the event with participant feedback from previous years in mind.
Interested exhibitors or sponsors may contact Alyona Burdugova. If you would like to speak at the forum, contact Tatiana Lapko.
