The Future of Large and Long-Range UAS: Assured C-Band C2 Opportunities for the GNSS Design and Integration Community - Inside GNSS - Global Navigation Satellite Systems Engineering, Policy, and Design

The Future of Large and Long-Range UAS: Assured C-Band C2 Opportunities for the GNSS Design and Integration Community

Join us for an exclusive webinar exploring how Assured C-Band Command and Control (C2) systems are revolutionizing UAS operations. As unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) scale up for larger, high-altitude, and long-range missions, secure and reliable C2 communications are becoming a cornerstone of operational success. This opens significant opportunities for the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) design and integration community.

In this session, we will examine how assured C-Band C2 is advancing UAS communications and how GNSS engineers, designers, and integrators can drive innovation in this rapidly evolving field.

Key Takeaways:

  • Assured C-Band C2 and GNSS Integration: How C-Band C2 systems rely on GNSS solutions for positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) accuracy, and what it means for design and integration professionals.
  • Opportunities for GNSS Engineers and Designers: Explore how to leverage your expertise in GNSS technology to support C-Band C2 system development for high-altitude, long-endurance (HALE) UAS.
  • Technical Challenges and Innovations: Dive into the unique design challenges of integrating GNSS with assured C-Band C2 systems for large and long-range UAS, and discover emerging solutions.
  • New Market Potential: Learn about the expanding commercial and defense applications of GNSS-enhanced UAS and how the integration of assured C-Band C2 opens up new business opportunities for GNSS system developers and integrators.

Who Should Attend:

  • GNSS engineers and designers
  • UAS and aerospace manufacturers

The Panelists

Jeremie Miller, Principal Architect, uAvionix Corporation

Jeremie Miller is a Principal Architect at uAvionix on the Engineering team where he leads the development and integration of communication and protocol infrastructure. He is also the Chair of the RTCA DO-362B Working Group where he leads the advancement of the foundational specification for dedicated UAS CNPC spectrum in the 5030-5091 MHz band. Miller’s career has long been focused on communication protocols and standards, starting with the Jabber project that led to the widely deployed and successful XMPP standard that is still used today in global large-scale applications like WhatsApp and Zoom.

Christian Ramsey, Chief Commercial Officer, uAvionix Corporation

Christian is the Chief Commercial Officer at uAvionix Corporation, a leading provider of innovative communications, navigation, and surveillance solutions for UAS, General Aviation, Airports and Defense markets. His experience spans over 20 years across both crewed and uncrewed aviation. Christian served as the Program Manager for Harris Corporation on the FAA’s Surveillance and Broadcast Services (i.e., ADS-B) program and Program Manager for UAS R&D programs. Most recently at uAvionix, he was a member of the FAA”s Advanced Air Mobility Advisory Committee, supporting the integration of UAS into the National Airspace. He has spent his entire career in aviation technologies ranging from aircraft and flight simulation to aircraft surveillance systems and cloud-based services. He is a private pilot and licensed UAS pilot under FAA Part 107.

Brandon Suarez, Vice President of UAS Integration, Reliable Robotics

At Reliable Robotics, Brandon leads the development of technical standards and globalaviation policy for the company. He is focused on defining key aspects of the development roadmap, including airspace integration and international operational approval, and supports product strategy plans and future aircraft programs. Brandon isdeeply involved in the aviation community. He is an advisor to the International Civil Aviation Organization, Co-Chair of RTC A Special Committee 228, and Chair of the Aerospace Industry Association’s Emerging Technology Committee. He is also active inseveral NASA research activities seeking to advance future aviation concepts and is an instrument-rated commercial pilot.
